Meet the Teacher
Hello! My name is Amy Olson and I have been passionate about teaching languages for over a decade. My teaching style is communicative, personalized, and task-based. This means that you can expect to be speaking, reading, writing, or listening every moment that you are in class, and to apply your skills to authentic language materials that align with your specific language goals. I hold a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Columbia University, and I have taught learners at all levels and ages in the U.S., Spain, the Palestinian Territories, and Nicaragua. I hope to see you or your child in class soon!
Small Group Classes
Sit side-by-side with classmates from around the world! In an initial, 30-minute, one-on-one session (the "Trial Class"), the teacher will assess your level as well as your goals for learning English. Based on this, she will place you in a group of 2-6 students of similar levels and goals. Amy will develop original lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of the students in the small group. Lessons are conducted on Zoom.
Rate: $16 / 1 hour
Children's Classes
Would you like for your child to learn English? Amy will conduct a "Trial Class" with you and your child together to get an idea of your child's English level, as well as your goals for their language learning. Amy will create a learning plan customized to your child, creating original lessons including engaging stories, songs, and activities to introduce English concepts. We can also work on academic subjects (math, reading, etc.) in English, if desired. Lessons are conducted on Zoom or Skype.
Rate: $16 / 30 mins
One-on-One
Work one-on-one with Amy for the most personalized learning experience. In an initial, 30-minute session (the "Trial Class"), the teacher will assess your level as well as your goals for learning English. Based on this, Amy will develop a personalized plan of study for you and deliver original lessons each week based on your specific needs. Lessons are conducted on Zoom or Skype.
